I work in RSPB's International Conservation Science team, supporting the Migrants and Flyways Programme.
My background is in spatial analysis and use of remote sensing data to monitor land cover change and other indicators of human impacts on the environment. My work covers site-based conservation, Key Biodiversity Areas, and the effectiveness of protected areas. More recently, I've focussed on the East Atlantic Flyway, especially West Africa, and I'm particularly interested in understanding the impacts of restoration, re-greening and tree planting schemes in the Sahel on migrant and resident bird species.
